Seems like everyone we know is traveling to London to see Dave Matthews Band at the iconic Royal Albert Hall this April. The band is playing two sold out shows on April 24th and April 25th, 2024.
For anyone spending a few days in London for these shows, I highly recommend the following things to see and do!
SOME of the top attractions and things to see – there is TRULY so much to do in London, these are only some highlights!
- Tower of London: A historic castle on the River Thames that was used for various purposes including an armory, a prison, and a royal residence.
- South Bank Area: This area on the south side of the Thames is known for its theaters, museums, and cultural attractions, including the London Eye, Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe, and Borough Market.
- Liberty London Store: A famous department store known for its quirky and colorful fashion and homeware designs.
- The Shard: A modern skyscraper offering stunning views of the city from its observation deck. There’s also six different bars and restaurants with views, or high tea at the Shangri-La.
- British Museum: One of the largest and most comprehensive museums in the world, housing a vast collection of antiquities and artifacts from around the globe.
- Churchill War Rooms: The underground bunker where Britain’s Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, and his staff coordinated the Allied response to Nazi Germany during World War II.
- Westminster Abbey: A beautiful Gothic church that has been the coronation church for British monarchs for centuries.
- Buckingham Palace: The official residence of the British monarch in London. Visitors can tour the State Rooms when the Queen is away.
- The London Eye: A giant Ferris wheel offering panoramic views of London.
- Tower Bridge: A famous bascule and suspension bridge that crosses the River Thames.
- Borough Market: A large and historic market known for its fresh produce, international foods, and artisan products.
- Tate Modern: A modern art gallery housed in a former power station on the South Bank of the Thames.
- The National Gallery: An art museum housing a vast collection of paintings from the 13th to the 19th centuries.
- Covent Garden Shopping: A popular area for shopping, with a mix of high-end and independent stores, street performers, and cafes.
- Neal’s Yard: A small alleyway in Covent Garden known for its colorful houses and independent shops.
- Churchill Arms Pub: A historic pub known for its patriotic decor and collection of Churchill memorabilia.
- Abbey Road: The famous zebra crossing made popular by The Beatles’ album cover of the same name.
- Carnaby Street: . This pedestrianized street in Soho boasts over 100 stores and dozens of cafes and restaurants, offering a vibrant atmosphere and a great selection of independent fashion boutiques and well-known British brands .
- Little Venice: Narrowboats bob gently on the Regent’s Canal, lined by charming Regency townhouses and inviting cafes offering a tranquil retreat in West London.
