Once we started traveling more often and refining how we pack, we realized clothing items made from merino wool are a gamechanger. While merino is generally more expensive, they are high quality pieces that you will get a ton of use out of and are built to last. I thought all the travel clothes with merino were geared towards people doing ACTUAL backpacking, but the same benefits merino provides outdoor enthusiasts translates to city trips too.
Why is merino good for travel?
Merino is highly breathable and excellent at wicking moisture away from the body, which helps to keep you cool and dry. Additionally, merino wool’s ability to regulate temperature means it adapts well to varying conditions, providing comfort even in warmer climates. You can actually wear Merino wool for multiple days without needing to wash it. That’s because odor-causing bacteria can’t reproduce or grow on Merino wool fibers, so stink won’t stick to it. In fact, most times you’ll just need to air out your Merino after use and they’ll be as good as new by morning.
Where can I find merino items?
Most outdoor retailers like Moosejaw, Backcountry, Patagonia, and REI sell merino items, but you can also find them on Amazon and even at Target. I’ve linked some great merino items for you to consider for your next trip below!

Bombas also makes some no show merino wool socks. I ordered several of these to take to Europe and have been wearing them around. So far I love them!
